Goa Launches country's first Jail monitoring system

With the inaugration of the prison management system (PRISMS) by home minister Ravi Naik on Thursday, Goa became the first state in the country to have a first-of-its-kind centralized jail monitering sysytem for the entire state.

PRISMS is a jail booking and management system that networks all five jails in Goa with the office of the IGP in Panaji and supports video conferencing facility between the jails. The system provides real-time information on all aspects of jail management including inmate personal property, visitor activity, mental and medical health information , inmate movement in and out facility , case and crime information, remission, parole, furlough etc.
